On October, 22, Second Plenary Meeting of the Consortium of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Educations and Training Collaborating Partners (CONECT-2) was opened in Beijing, China.
19 representatives from WMO and WMO Regional Training Centre (RTC) in South Africa, the Federal University of Santa Maria in Brazil, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Argentinean Meteorological Service (AMS), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Indonesian Meteorological, Climate and Geophysical Agency (IMCGA), the WMO RTC Nanjing, and the WMO RTC for Hydrology attended the meeting in Beijing. And nearly 90 international experts participated online.

After overviewing the work of CONECT in the first year and sharing updates from the WMO, CONECT-2 conducted working group reports on 5 themes, including Promoting BIP and Competency implementation, Training Resources, Communications and outreach of CONECT and Global Campus initiative, Work force/Human Resources, Approaches to consistent adoption of certificates and micro credentials in training, etc,. China Meteorological Administration (CMA) Training Centre (WMO RTC Beijing), as the representative of Working Group-5 (Approaches to consistent adoption of certificates and micro credentials in training), made a meeting report.
CONECT-2 also discussed ongoing and future activities, the strategic direction for 2025 and beyond, review of the terms of reference, as well asdecisions on the Next Plenary Meeting and any other relevant topics.
