On January 6, this year's first “Spring Festival meteorological service special report” was released, which included 48-hour national weather forecast, the national highway, railroad, air traffic weather forecast, the Yangtze River mainline meteorological conditions level forecast. It marked the start of meteorological service for China's Spring Festival in 2025.
This year's Spring Festival runs from January 14 to February 22, spanning a total of 40 days. The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) set up a team for meteorological services for the Spring Festival, strengthened meteorological monitoring and forecasting and early warning services, and deepened departmental coordination.
During the Spring Festival,
·National Meteorological Centre (NMC), CMA produces and releases the “Spring Festival meteorological service special report” every day.
·National Climate Centre (NCC), CMA organizes the national climate trend prediction consultation.
·CMA Public Meteorological Service Centre releases the weekly report of the Spring Festival highway meteorological service and the national highway traffic meteorological forecast, etc..
·Huafeng Meteorological Media Group Ltd produces the national railroad and air traffic meteorological forecast every day.
·National Satellite Meteorological Centre (NSMC), CMA conducts intensive remote sensing monitoring and satellite emergency observation.
·National Meteorological Information Centre (NMIC), CMA continuously upgrades the specialized work of “Spring Festival Service” based on “Tianqing-Live”, which provides references for transportation and decision-making of relevant departments.
·CMA Meteorological Observation Centre (MOC) strengthens operational monitoring and maintenance of various types of detection equipment.
·CMA Communication and Outreach Centre (China Meteorological News Press) enhances disaster weather science popularization and relevant meteorological service dissemination.
In particular, the Yangtze River Basin Meteorological Centre specializes in high-impact weather such as low-temperature rain and snow, cold-air gusts of wind, fog, rain and mist, and timely release of weather forecasts for navigation on the Yangtze River waterways and weather forecasts for key ports. Relevant products are integrated into the Yangtze River mainline meteorological monitoring and forecasting and warning products sharing platform, which provide support for the maritime industry, shipping industry and other relevant departments in guaranteeing the traffic safety during the Spring Festival.
