On the same day, CMA campus is opened to the public, pooling resources and interactive experience projects of meteorological science popularization venues in Beijing, and creating a science popularization demonstration platform with the assistance of social forces such as schools, scientific research institutions, cultural venues and enterprises.
It has set up interactive projects covering themes like "meteorological +" science and technology innovation frontier, meteorological data around us, FENGYUN meteorological satellite development history, public meteorological service products, weather modification operation equipment and experiments, climate and urban harmony, smart meteorological science and technology equipment, science and technology space and so on.
In addition, a series of activities like national meteorological science popularization reports, youth science popularization activities, meteorological cultural creative activities have been organized to disseminate meteorological science knowledge in a way that is popular with the public.
For consecutive days, meteorological departments all over China have drew on local characteristics and promoted meteorological science popularization into organs, schools, rural areas, communities, enterprises and institutions through a combination of online and offline approaches, and improved the ability of governments at all levels and the public to prevent and guard against disasters and harness climate resources in a science-based manner.
The theme of this year's WMD underscores the pivotal role of meteorology as the first line of defense against disasters and reflects the international meteorological community's shared aspiration for global collaboration in maintaining safety in terms of weather and climate.
China has actively responded to the call of the United Nations (UN). It has established emergency linkage mechanism with meteorological early warning as the trigger and adopted “call and response”when high-level early warning is issued.
China's plan in early warnings has been shared to the international community and offered support by means of establishing operational platforms, providing technical support, and personnel training. FENGYUN meteorological satellites now deliver over 100 kinds of data products and services to more than 130 countries and regions.
CMA will join hands with countries around the world to engage in climate governance, and take concrete actions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
