On November 14, 2024 FENGYUN Satellite User Conference opened in Yuxi, Yunnan, China.
After more than two years of continuous research, real-time satellite application platform "FENGYUN Earth" organized and developed by the National Satellite Meteorological Centre (NSMC) of China has successively launched several versions, such as professional version, international version, river basin version, fingertip version, and others, to build a “spectrum” of "FENGYUN Earth".
Its official launch marked that the comprehensive service capability of FENGYUN (FY) meteorological satellites is ascending to a new height.
The professional version is geared to the demand of severe weather monitoring and forecasting services and aims to construct real-time, interactive and information-based satellite application service platform.
The international version provides real-time, accurate and efficient FY meteorological satellite application services for users in Belt and Road partner countries.
The river basin version provides quantified and refined products of watershed scale precipitation, soil moisture, surface water bodies, etc.
The fingertip version can be loaded on mobile phones and other mobile terminals to provide the public with convenient satellite data information.
Since 2022, NSMC has launched satellite application service platform "FENGYUN Earth", which provides more than 100 products in five categories, including satellite cloud images, meteorological factors, disaster events, climate monitoring and model verification, for a variety of operational scenarios, and realizing that FY meteorological satellite products are synchronized and directly reach counties, cities, provinces, and the entire country.
