On February 26, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) released the 2025 Catalog of Popular Meteorological Data for Open Sharing, featuring a focused presentation of the meteorological data and products with the top annual download volumes, including surface, upper-air, satellite, marine, real-time and reanalysis data and products.

Since 2001, CMA has successively released 6batches of catalogs for the open sharing of meteorological data, making available to the whole society 106 types of meteorological data and products across 12 categories, including surface, upper-air, satellite, numerical weather prediction, and service products.
These data have underpinned innovative development and application in more than 20 industries and fields such as education, earth sciences, civil engineering, meteorology, engineering and technological sciences, agricultural sciences, environment and safety, hydraulic engineering, medicine and health, transportation engineering, forestry sciences, as well as finance and insurance, with services covering 153 countries and territories.
The public can download the above-mentioned popular meteorological data through multiple accessible channels and means via the Chinese and English bilingual service portal of the China Meteorological Data Network, including harnessing its provided data catalog navigation and retrieval tools, API interface calls, and map layer service calls, as well as following its WeChat and Weibo new media platforms.
