On March 21, the Baokang County Meteorological Office in Xiangyang, Hubei organized a World Meteorological Day event at the county's Meteorological Science Popularization Hall and Meteorological Office.

Meteorological volunteers highlighted this year's World Meteorological Day theme by delving into the evolution of weather forecasting, including the development of early forecasting methods, the emergence of modern forecasting systems, the rise of numerical weather prediction, and future trends in meteorological technology. Participants, especially children, engaged in immersive virtual reality simulations to experience disaster escape scenarios and learned about weather modification techniques—such as cloud seeding and hail suppression—through interactive games.

Additionally, over 500 copies of educational materials, including the Meteorological Disaster Prevention Guide, were distributed to participants.
