On May 13, the first-generation of global atmospheric and land surface reanalysis products (CRA) of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) are officially released in Beijing.
CRA products have filled the gaps in China's global atmospheric reanalysis field. The products are shared with users through the China Meteorological Data Service Centre website (http://www.nmic.cn/).
CRA has reconstructed the global three-dimensional atmospheric conditions from the ground to an altitude of 55 kilometers since 1979, with a time resolution of 6 hours and a horizontal resolution of 34 kilometers. After trial evaluation by many research institutes, the quality of CRA is generally equivalent to that of the international third-generation global reanalysis products.

CRA will be formally provided for the departments of natural resources, ecological environment, water resources and others. China Meteorological Data Service Centre website also provides a full set of explanatory materials, as well as download and customization services.
In 2015, CMA established a research team for "Meteorological Data Quality Control and Multi-source Data Fusion and Reanalysis". It took six years to develop China's first generation of global atmospheric and land surface reanalysis products (CRA).
On May 21, CRA graphics products passed the business review of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing). CRA daily (monthly) global near-surface temperature, precipitation, wind, standard horizon altitude, temperature and other graphics products will be displayed in the website of World Meteorological Center (Beijing) soon.
