On May 23, Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Surface Reference Network Lead Centre (GSRN-LC) was initiated in the national meteorological observing real-time operational platform, Beijing. GSRN-LC is hosted by World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and undertaken by China Meteorological Administration (CMA). Dr. Yu Xinwen, Deputy Administrator of CMA, Dr. Zhang Wenjian, Assistant Secretary-General of WMO, GCOS Secretariat, WMO officials from GSRN task team, and representative from CMA attended this event. 

Dr. Yu Xinwen expressed that CMA will consolidate cooperation with WMO and its members, to further share observing technologies and elevate global observing capacities and data quality.

Dr. Zhang Wenjian anticipated that GSRN-LC will give full play to its functions, enforce collaboration with relevant departments, and conduct relevant communication work.
