It is informed from National Meteorological Information Centre (NMIC) of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) that reconstruction dataset of monthly grid point global land temperature (1°*1°)and monthly grid point global surface temperature since 1850 has been mapped out and passed expert review, providing data products for evaluating global warming trends in a more science-based manner.
Global land temperature and surface temperature dataset at the centennial scale bear significant importance for global climate change monitoring and climate change study. The two datasets have higher spatial coverage and resolution and have an advantage in presenting regional centennial warming scientific facts in Asia in a refined manner.
NMIC has done tremendous work in working out relevant technologies. During the process, technical personnel has fully tapped data source advantage, and harnessed independent technologies to realize the integration of reconstructed data and monthly auto update. The resolution of global surface temperature products have been improved from 5°*5°to 2°*2°.
In the future, NMIC will engage in multi-dimensional assessment of data products and climate change monitoring facts analysis, reinforce the application and promotion of data products, and further optimize products.
