At 5:00 p.m. on September 17, the typhoon Mangkhut landed in coast of Guangdong. Influenced by it, heavy rainstorm hit central-southern Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau, eastern Taiwan, southeastern Guangxi and southern Jiangsu. Some of Shenzhen, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Yunfu, Maoming of Guangdong, Yunlin of Guangxi, Lingao of Hainan, Hong Kong, Suzhou of Jiangsu and Pingdong of Taiwan experienced extremely torrential downpours. Scale 12 to 13 even 14 to 16 blowed Pearl River Estuary, central coast of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau and Yunlin of Guangxi.

The National Meteorological Center continued to issue yellow warning of typhoon at 6:00 a.m. on September 17. In this 6:00 am, the 22th typhoon Mangkhut, was reduced to be severe tropical storm, centered over Heng County, Guangxi (22.7°N, 109.0°E). It’s forecasted that Mangkhut will move towards west by north at the speed of 20 kilometers per hour with reducing intensity.

From September 17 to 18, southern Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau, Hainan Island, Guangxi, western Hunan, Guizhou, southern Chongqing, eastern and southwestern Yunnan will experience heavy rain to rainstorm. Heavy torrential rain will hit southwestern Guangdong, eastern and northern Guangxi and southern Guizhou.

From September 17 to 20, moderate to heavy rain will affect central-eastern Northwest China, central-southern North China, the Yellow-Huaihe basin, the Yangtze-Huaihe basin and eastern Southwest China. Some of southern Yellow-Huaihe basin, the Yangtze-Huaihe basin and Sichuan Basin will see rainstorm or heavy torrential rain. (Sep.17)
