CMA Administrator held a video meeting with the Secretary-General of WMO

On April 28, Mr. Zhuang Guotai, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) held a video meeting with Prof. Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The two sides exchanged views on key tasks such as the "Belt and Road" meteorological cooperation, WMO reform, data exchange, climate change response, and SOFF, expressing to deepen cooperation and promote the global meteorological development. 

Zhuang Guotai extended his gratitude to WMO for its long-term supports for CMA. He said that CMA appreciates WMO's members-centered development concept and is willing to further support WMO reforms as an intergovernmental organization to play an active role in the field of meteorology. CMA will continue to cooperate with WMO under the framework of the “Belt and Road” and jointly advance the development of global meteorology. Petteri Taalas expressed his appreciation for China's "carbon neutral" goal and CMA's positive contributions to the global meteorological development. He highly agreed with the concept of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind and a Community of Human and Natural Life. (Apr.29)
