On December 14, the local time, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) held the sixth consultative meeting on implementation of the Letter of Intent between WMO and CMA to Promote Regional Meteorological Cooperation and Co-build the Belt and Road (thereafter referred to as the Letter) in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Bi Baogui, Deputy Administrator of CMA, Dr. Zhang Wenjian, Assistant Secretary-General of WMO, and Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, President of Regional Association II of WMO attended the meeting. Relevant representatives from WMO Secretariat and CMA joined the event.
The meeting reviewed the cooperative progresses since the last consultative meeting and discussed future cooperative focuses and specific measures. During the past one year, the bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results in the implementation of the Letter. The meeting spoke highly of this aspect. Both sides agreed that in the next year they will focus on supporting the initiative of early warnings for all and provide more tailor-made high-quality services for WMO members along Belt and Road territories.
