The Forum on High-Quality Meteorological Development and Cooperation of the 6th China-Arab States Expo was opened in Yinchuan, Ningxia on September 21, with Dr. CHEN Zhenlin, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA), Mr. MAI Yanzhou, Vice Chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, President of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Director-General of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Dr. ZHANG Wenjian, Assistant Secretary-General of WMO, attending and addressing the Opening Ceremony.

During the Forum, CMA and NCM held a side bilateral event and signed a document on future cooperation in meteorological science and technology, and China Huayun Meteorological Technology Group Corporation signed a cooperation agreement with the NationalMeteorological Services of Mauritania, Comoros and other countries.
As one of the eight specialized exhibitions of the Expo, the Climate Smart Exhibition was held on the same day, with four exhibition areas, focusing on achievements of state-of-the-art meteorological facilities and scientific service delivery.
On September 22, two parallel forums of CAS Expo were held. One parallel forum was about "Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to Climate Change", which representatives and experts from China, Jordan, Mauritania, Comoros and other countries held a roundtable discussion and reached consensus on promoting the use of China's Fengyun meteorological satellites and the World Meteorological Centre Beijing jointly in support of disaster prevention and mitigation as well as climate governance.
Another parallel forum focused on the "Belt and Road"meteorological services. Experts and scholars from meteorological services and research institutes conducted in-depth discussions over the high-quality meteorological development, promoting innovation and cooperation in the construction of the "Belt and Road" in terms of meteorological observations, forecasts and early warnings, emergency response, as well as exploring the establishment of technological innovation and cooperation mechanism.
