On November 25, the Three-Year Action Plan (2024-2026) of Asia-Pacific Typhoon Collaborative Research Center (hereafter referred to as the Center) was approved. In the future, the Center will focus on the new and urgent technical and scientific problems in the prevention and mitigation of typhoon disasters, and carry out typhoon scientific experiments and interdisciplinary research based on the artificial intelligence typhoon model.
According to this action plan, in the next three year, the Center, as a new type of research and development institution, will bring together top scientists from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world to participate in joint research on key scientific issues in typhoon forecasting, and provide technical demonstrations to countries and territories in the region and the entire world in this connection so that the AP region will be able to lead the world in typhoon forecast accuracy and warning lead time, while Shanghai recognized as a world-class highland for typhoon research.
