At 1:00 p.m. on August 25, Typhoon Ma-on is about 580 meters away from the oceanfront of southeastern Yangjiang, Guangdong. It is projected to move west by north direction with a gaining intensity. It will make landfall in coastal regions from Zhuhai to Zhanjiang, Guangdong during the daytime of August 25 (28-35m/s, scale 10-12, severe tropical storm scale or typhoon scale).
It forecasts that from August 24 to 26, scale 7-9 gale will blanket central-northern South China Sea, Bashi Channel, southern oceanfront of Taiwan Strait, Beibu Gulf, and coastal regions of Guandong Guangxi, and Hainan Island.
Moderate to heavy rain will wallop central-southern Guangdong, southern Yunnan, Hainan Island, and central-southern Guangxi from August 24 to 26. (Aug.24)
